Am I obsessed with love?

No, I don’t mean obsessed with
Any one girl in particular.
That’s not it.

I mean,
Am I obsessed with the idea
Of being in a close, interpersonal relationship
That involves a desire
To be with a girl forever?

Everywhere I look,
I see couples in love.
I get jealous
Because I’ve never had
In almost twenty-three years
What they have.

Am I doomed to be single forever?
I hope not.

What’s it like to be in love?
For real?
To have more than just a cliché crush?

I must have answers.
I must know what it’s like
To have an actual love life,
To have someone
To whom I can devote my all,
To whom I can act the superhero knight that
God made me to be.

If I had a girl to love,
I swear she would be my all.

Will I find a girl who’ll look up
From her smartphone in a colorful case
Long enough to acknowledge I exist?

I have a strongly moral upbringing.
I have a supportive family.
I have an education I wouldn’t trade
For the world.

Why does everyone but me get love?
